When I am lonely and,
Perhaps I feel despair.
Let not my ailing heart forget,
That You hear every prayer.
Remind me that no matter what,
I do or fail to do,
There still is hope for as long
As I have faith in You.
Let not my eyes be blinded by
Some folly I commit.
But help me to regret my wrong,
And to make up for it.
Inspire me to put my fears,
Upon a hidden shelf,
And in the future never to
Be sorry for myself.
Give me the restful sleep I need,
Before another dawn,
And bless me in the morning with
The courage to go on.
A really nice prayer I have stumbles upon... Hope this will be a prayer we make in our hearts...
Have you watched Cold Case? It is a Crime drama series that already has 6 seasons running. It is a fictional story about unsolved crimes that went cold. Then the Philadelphia cold case unit would handle the cases endorsed by a witness or just got through the file. What I like most about Cold case is they have a very nice choice of music used in every episode.
Detective Lily Rush (Kathryn Morris)
the lead character and for two seasons is the only female in the squad. She has a very troubled personal life. She suffered an attack when she was a child. Her Mom is an alcoholic. Can't hold on to romantic relationships because of personal issues. At the end of season 4, she was shot during a hostage situation in the squad. She has since returned to work, though her emotional recovery may take longer.
Scotty Valens (Danny Pino)
Lily's partner, introduced in episode 5 of season 1. A lady's man from the outside but actually is a softy inside. He has been shown to have a short temper at times, but is generally a loyal partner to Lilly. Like Lilly, he also has a difficulty with personal relationships: One girlfriend, Elisa, had some mental problems and eventually died in an apparent suicide. He later briefly embarked on a disastrous and ill-advised relationship with Lilly's sister Christina, which severely strained his friendship with Lilly for its duration.
Lieutenant Jon Stillman (John Finn)
The squad commander and occasionally a mentor and confidant to Lilly. A Vietnam combat veteran with some war-era stress as seen in "Honor" he has shown himself to be stern but caring boss. His daughter was once assaulted, but survived and gave him a grandson. Due to his commitment to the job, his marriage was very strained and finally ended in divorce.
Detective Nick Vera (Jeremy Ratchford )
A laid-back and occasionally uncouth detective, Vera is nonetheless an effective interrogator. Vera was a married man but was shown to become close to a number of women at times during cases, as he and wife had grown apart. A chance encounter caring for a baby in one episode led to him applying for adoption, possibly as a way to salvage his failing marriage.
Detective Will Jeffries (Thom Barry)
The second oldest detective in the squad, Jeffries is a lean, strong and wise police veteran, and senior member of the squad (under Stillman). Jeffries' life has had the most significance in the show, showing he has lived through many of the eras from which most of the show's cold cases take place, the most important of which was the death of a young black man murdered in the 1960's, where Jeffries was revealed to have found the body as a child (exposing him to homicide at an early age, setting the stage for him to join the police), and grew up to solve the crime ("Strange Fruit"). Jeffries is also close friends with Stillman, as he served in the Vietnam War ("Honor") just like Stillman. Jeffries was also married, but is now a widower, as his wife, Mary, was run down by a transport truck while changing a tire on the side of a highway in 1994 ("Bad Night").
Detective Kat Miller ( Tracie Thoms )
After assisting the squad on a case in the third season, Kat impressed Lt. Stillman enough that he offered her a position in the squad. Kat had previously been shot during an incident in Fishtown, though she claims to have emotionally recovered from that. She is the single mother of a young girl and a heavy smoker, though she claims she's trying to quit.

It started as a normal day for everyone. After work, I went straight to our house to rest. My work starts at 10:00 pm and ends at 7:00am the following morning. After doing some errands at home I and a friend went to
The store’s employees went down towards where the gunshots were heard. My initial reaction is to hide, because there is a tendency that the guy could be mad and be shooting around at people. I saw the people coming out of the store. The store was deserted. So we just followed to see what has happened outside.
Apparently there were 3 gunmen riding two motorcycles. They had pulled over a taxi with 4 passengers in it. After pulling over, the gunmen shot the 3 passengers at the back repeatedly. After shooting the victims, the gunmen fled with their motorcycles and had also got one of the victims bag. So, what could be the motive? Where are the police?
People around were stricken with fear. They just watched the gunmen shooting the people inside the taxi. It was like an action movie set. When the police finally arrived, the victims were already rushed to the hospital and the gunmen were long gone. The taxi driver sensing that the gunmen already escaped immediately took the victims to the nearest hospital.
People around there started talking about their own theories. Like it was a robbery, or the local death squad did it. Nobody was sure. So we went home and watched out for the local news. The news report said that there were 3 victims. The two victims were dead upon arriving at the hospital and one is still fighting for his life. I really felt bad because of the violent nature of the crime. I too was puzzled with what the motive is. Robbery or crime related. What could they have done to deserve that?
My questions were answered later as I went to work. My cell phone rang. It was my friend saying that our friend just died. I was really confused, I asked what happened. Then he told me that he was one of the victims at the shooting at
We were not really that close. We just happen to have the same set of friends. We often see each other at friends gathering. We joked sometimes and laughed at the antics of our friends. But still I felt really sad with his sudden passing.
The details then followed. He was just accompanying his sister. They were going to the police station to post bail to his brother in law. His brother in law was supposedly charged with robbery and was a leader of a crime syndicate. A light bulb just flashed through my mind. And the pieces of the puzzle begin to shape.
In my opinion, if they were after the guy with a criminal record, why would they shoot the two innocent ones?
Where was the police mobile patrol during those times? Usually that place is being patrolled by mobile police…
They must have inside information to know the exact time of release of the guy from prison…
Who was behind this gruesome crime?
Will it be solved? Well I guess it won’t be… Crimes like this, especially here at our city, don’t get solved.
My friend and his sister and brother in law, will be laid to rest tomorrow, Tuesday at 1:00 pm. And yet there are still no leads regarding to the suspects identity and whereabouts. I just hope this will be different. This time I hope it would be solved.
Another life, wasted. He was still young. He has a bright future ahead of him. How could someone end it just like that?
I hope that the government will condone this act of violence especially to innocent people. And to the law enforcers to please do their job. Keep peace and order to our City.
I send my condolences to the family and friends of the departed. May you have the strength to overcome the tragedy that has happened in your life. Let us pray for their souls and be happy for them. They will soon be with our creator and will live a peaceful life.
To the ones responsible, I hope you would have a clear conscience and surrender to the authorities. If you’re not caught by the human law, you’re definitely going to be judged with God’s law.
